Dear Sir,

Bell to Lowe Tye Shing

We send you by hand Crown Grant in the name of Alexander Bell and also a transfer of the land to our clients Lowe Tye Shing & others, together also with transfer of allotment one A of Section 8, Parish of Yendon, being in two parts, one as a transfer of a freehold and the other as a freehold.

With reference to this matter Mr Bell & our clients will no doubt inform you that an agreement has been made between the parties for the sale of this property, including furniture, at a sum of £2,700. The vendor has treated the whole of the land as if it were freehold, but as one portion, formerly Section one A, is leasehold convertible into a freehold, it has been arranged that the necessary transfer shall be signed by the vendor immediately, & that the balance of cash purchase, viz. £900, & the acceptance given shall be handed to you, to be held by the Bank at Beechworth on behalf of all parties until completion. Application has been made to the Land Office & Mr Layman has promised to facilitate the procuring of a Crown Grant to the vendor of the leasehold portion of the land.

We shall esteem it a favor if you will get the vendor Mr Bell to sign the three documents sent you before a magistrate, and the same, together with the Crown Grant and Lease, with Treasurer’s Receipt, will be left with you as an escrow until payment of the whole of the purchase money & retirement of the acceptance, which will be handed to you when the £900 is paid.

We shall be glad to hear from you of the receipt of the documents & also that the matter has been completed.
