The Wooragee Gold Mining and Dredging Co. NL was registered in Melbourne with Wong Shi Geen as legal manager. Initially all shareholders were Chinese. Hydraulic pump sluicing began in Wooragee in 1904. In 1906 it became the New Wooragee Hydraulic Dredging Co.. Pump sluicing continued to 1913. In 1926 the plant was sent to Malaya.
